Financing

Biomass projects are primarily driven by the savings generated in fuel costs, which is often helpful in offsetting system construction costs of a biomass energy system. Third-party funding is usually directed by facility ownership with schools and municipal buildings requiring a district vote to pass a bond for the project. Nonprofits are more donor-based while individually publicall and privately owned businesses are often eligable for government funding benefits such as tax credits and carbon credits. FES is available to assist securing additional funding through opportunites such as partnerships, energy service companies (ESCOs), or cooperatives.
