Economic
All of our communities spend a growing number of dollars for energy. Many of these dollars go to buy a fossil fuel that is imported into our country. Most of these dollars leave our community forever. A biomass heating system uses a local resource to supply our energy and our heating dollars stay in the local economy. These dollars help to manage our forest, fields and landfills. They go to hire local people to prepare and deliver our fuel. They go to our stores and restaurants and recreation. It prevents leakage of dollars from our communities by deriving our energy from a sustainable local resource, which makes a sustainable, continuing contribution to the economic health of our community.
